As Jason is training for the Chicago marathon, I watch. :) His training plan included a half marathon in Boulder, so we made the early morning trek up north for him to run his 13.1 miles around the Boulder Reservoir.
He started the race, and I watched these take off! So pretty! I LOVE hot air balloons. If only my husband would take me on a scenic balloon ride someday.....
And then I found a shady spot by the Res and read my book...while he continued to run for another 1.5 Hours! This book that I'm reading is "Little Bee" by Chris Cleave. The book follows two women, a Nigerian refugee and a Magazine publicist in England. It weaves back and forth between their lives and how they intersect. I would recommend it! The only description the back of the book gives is: "It is a truly special story and we don't want to spoil it."
Around 1 hour and 40 minutes, I went back to the race course to find Jason. I didn't get a picture of it... but there was probably a 12 year old kid that went by just before he did :) Guess I shouldn't make fun though, because lately I've only been able to make it about a mile... downhill!
Good job Honey!
And the Finish! Proudly holding his medal. Looks like he got a LITTLE bit of sun on the run. It's been so warm here! I think we've hit record highs 3 or 4 times this week. But, it really cools down in the evenings, so Hubble is still enjoying his daily trips to the dog park, and I'm enjoying the time to read on our porch.
We are looking forward to a long weekend... and Jason finally starts school next week! Both of us will be back to working full-time (well, kinda). We are going to check out a concert in the park tonight- The Nacho Men! haha! Hopefully pictures to come soon.
Way to go J! And it's ok Kels...I don't run anymore either! :D I wish you were here to go walking with me at lunch though!!!
